Social media is a powerful tool for bridging the gap between generations, particularly with Gen Z. Gen Z employees are actively checking your social media presence. They want to see what is happening in the community regularly, understand the company culture, and hear directly from employees.

Because Gen Z is checking your pages, it is essential to ask: does your social media reflect your company and its culture? One effective way to showcase this is by celebrating employees. Highlighting employees on social media signals to potential hires that these are the types of individuals you are looking for and that they will be valued.

For example, when I post for a client—whether it’s recognizing an employee of the month or celebrating a five-year work anniversary—it serves multiple purposes. First, it boosts employee morale, contributing to retention by making them feel appreciated and fostering a sense of belonging. Second, family members and potential residents who see these posts gain insight into the workplace culture. They observe the kind of people working in the community and think, ‘These are the type of individuals I want caring for my parent.
