The number of times that I interview someone for 45 minutes or so, and there’s always somebody from the community sitting there with me, but what’s amazing is that staff members will listen to the interview and realize they never really knew this person.
It makes me think—why don’t we do more of this in our communities?
There are so many high school students needing community service hours. Imagine if we paired them with residents to document their stories and then had a big assembly at the end of the year to share them.
This intergenerational approach isn’t just fun; it’s a way to ensure we truly know the people we serve.
