Anecdotes don’t drive change—data does.

In this Senior Living Minute, Nate O’Keefe explains how insights from active senior living researchers reveal key patterns that go beyond guesswork. By structuring real-time data, communities can identify consistent trends among prospective residents and use them as a roadmap for change.

Learn how leveraging aggregated insights from real decision-makers can reshape marketing, outreach, and senior living offerings to better meet the needs of future residents.

Transcript: Data From Active Researchers Provides a Roadmap for Change

I think of three key audiences for data. The third audience is the one that focuses on aggregate data—understanding who these people truly are.

Right now, many people rely on anecdotes when describing senior living prospects. They might say, ‘I think it’s someone like this,’ or ‘Yeah, my friend is going through this.’ But if we take those anecdotes and turn them into structured, real data, we can uncover consistent patterns among this pent-up audience—patterns that can serve as a roadmap for change.

These insights should guide what we change in our communities, our offerings, and our outreach process. They should also influence how we present ourselves when we want people to think about us.

Our goal is to make data actionable—sharing aggregated insights based on what prospects reveal during their decision-making process. This is very different from what they might share in a traditional market research study after the fact. By using real-time decision data, we can build a more effective, responsive senior living experience.
