Sales and operations must work together—or chaos follows.
In this Senior Living Minute, Kacie Pritt emphasizes the importance of communication between sales and operations teams.
Find out why misalignment leads to frustration and how transparency can improve collaboration and results.
When looking at the alignment between sales and operations, it is crucial to understand why it is so pivotal. For example, if sales is aggressively pushing in the market to bring in referrals—positioning the organization as a reliable partner to referral sources—but operations is not communicating that staffing levels are inadequate, it creates chaos.
I believe misalignment is a much bigger issue than many people realize. Across the industry—not just in skilled nursing facilities—it is essential to understand the ‘why’ behind both operations and sales. Why are they here? Why are they important? What are they doing?
When both sides have clarity on these questions, they can move forward together with a shared understanding of how each piece fits into the bigger picture. Success comes from working together, being transparent, and relying on one another. That alignment is key to ensuring everything runs smoothly and effectively.
