Senior living sales should be about connection, not just efficiency.
In this Senior Living Minute, Deborah Potter emphasizes that while efficiency matters in sales, it should never overshadow the human experience.
Learn why authentic connections lead to stronger relationships and higher conversions.
As sales professionals in senior living, it is easy to put on a mask or a persona and forget that the person in front of us is often afraid, often confused. And when I say ‘someone,’ I mean both prospective residents and their family members. They are frequently in the midst of a staggering life change—a crossroads that, unless we take a moment to sit on the other side of the table, we can easily overlook.
More and more, we live in a robotic culture. A culture built around efficiency. As a result, we have trained ourselves to focus on efficiency, and to some extent, that is necessary. Sales requires making enough phone calls and meeting with enough people. But if we lose sight of the human element, we have lost the very essence of what we are trying to sell and what we are ultimately trying to do.
