What can we learn from 100-year-olds? More than you think.
In this Senior Living Minute, Jack York shares how his project TaleGate is dedicated to elevating aging by capturing the incredible life stories of centenarians. He travels across the country in his van, interviewing seniors to document their wisdom and experiences.
Discover how these interviews are changing perceptions of aging.
Most of my life now is dedicated to a company I founded called TaleGate. TaleGate is centered on elevating the perception of aging. I am passionate about showcasing to the outside world how inspiring aging can be and highlighting the vibrancy of senior living communities.
As part of this mission, we produce in-depth documentaries each month, spending four to five days on-site at senior living communities. The editing process for these films typically takes three to four weeks. While our talented videographers handle post-production, I travel across the country in a van equipped with GoPro cameras, interviewing centenarians.
I am actively searching for communities with residents who are 100 years old and interested in sharing their stories. Thanks to our sponsors, these interviews come at no cost to the communities. My work is focused entirely on elevating the narrative around aging. Additionally, we are growing our YouTube channel, VintageVoices100, as a way to expand awareness beyond the senior living industry.
