You’ve got to decide who you want to be the perfect choice for—and then design an experience that exceeds that specific group’s expectations. If we do that, we’ll start to see a much more interesting senior living industry.

That includes environmental design, the physical layout, the staffing decisions, and even the type of residents you attract. It’s more than just adding a second dining venue or a yoga room.

It’s about starting with a blank sheet of paper and asking: Who is our target customer? What are their dreams, routines, and aspirations? And how can we support them in achieving those dreams?
