Programs and activities are more than just events on a calendar—they define the personality of a senior living community. In this Senior Living Minute, Erin Thompson discusses how lifestyle, wellness, and activity programs shape the resident experience, foster connections, and influence the decision-making process for prospects. Engaging programs not only enrich residents’ lives but also play a critical role in the sales process, making them essential for every community leader to understand and support.
The lifestyle, activities, and wellness programs inside each community are what I believe to be the personality of the community.
If you look back and analyze tours from the last year, you may hear phrases like, “I’ve toured other places, and residents are just sitting around.” These programs are critically important in a resident’s journey and can play a major role in deciding which community to move into.
Activities programming changes the lives of residents who engage in them, creating opportunities for involvement and building meaningful relationships. Having fun connects people.
The fact that lifestyle and activities programming plays a key role in the sales process is something that every sales director, executive director, and nursing director needs to recognize and be actively involved in supporting.
