You don’t have to compete with aggregators—outrank them.
In this Senior Living Minute, Jerry Vinci explains how strong SEO strategies can help communities rank higher than aggregators on search engines.
Learn why long-tail keywords, local search strategies, and proper website optimization are the keys to gaining visibility and attracting direct leads.
Many providers believe they can’t compete with aggregators, but that’s simply not true. We work with communities that outrank top aggregators because they have done a better job with optimization.
Google will always prioritize the source—meaning the community itself—over an aggregator if the site is properly optimized. The challenge is that many communities lack effective optimization strategies to take advantage of this.
When it comes to paid ads, most providers target the same high-traffic keywords. But there are thousands of potential keywords, including long-tail search terms that prospects actually use. For example, instead of just targeting “assisted living,” a more effective phrase might be “assisted living in Mishawaka, Indiana.” These longer, more specific phrases drive traffic directly to the right audience.
Another key factor is understanding local search behavior. Most senior living traffic is local, yet many providers cast a net too wide, reducing visibility for their specific community. A targeted, localized approach is essential for standing out in search rankings and generating high-quality leads.
