An educated consumer can cut right through sales fluff.
In this Senior Living Minute, Emily Tucker explains why today’s prospects demand more than vague claims—they want facts, data, and authenticity. Simply saying, “We’re the clinical leaders in our market,” isn’t enough. Instead, support your claims with proof, like, “We have 56 Baldrige Bronze Awards, more than any other company in the country.”
Learn how blending logic and emotion in your messaging can build trust, make prospects feel seen and heard, and ultimately drive move-ins.
An educated consumer is, first and foremost, going to be able to cut through your fluff. Everything you say must be backed by data. You can’t just claim, ‘We’re the clinical leaders in our market.’ Instead, you need to say, ‘We have 56 Baldrige Bronze Awards in our family—more than any other company in the country.’
You have to convince the skeptic just as much as you appeal to their emotions. The generation prior to Boomers didn’t require that level of proof, but today’s consumers do.
The best way to leverage human psychology is to remember that you are human yourself. What is interesting to one person is interesting to another. People want to feel seen, heard, and included—so how do you create that feeling? If you can achieve that in the sales process, they move in. Because, at the end of the day, that’s what we all want.
