Embrace Relationship-Driven Sales

As an industry, we are continuing to trend toward full adoption of relationship-driven sales. There will always be a group that finds success with a more transactional sales style, and that has its place. However, relationship-driven sales offer a deeper, more sustainable impact.

At the end of the day, we can talk about how we feel, but as sales professionals, we have to close deals. There is no mission without margin in this industry. The push for relationship-driven sales needs more advocates—not just at the community level, but all the way up to the home office, corporate, and ownership levels.

By embracing this approach, we can reduce lead churn, increase conversion rates, and ultimately extend resident length of stay. Instead of residents moving out in 18 months, they are staying for 20, 30, or even 40 months longer. A stronger focus on relationships creates value not just for sales teams, but for the entire senior living experience.
