Transcript: Reversing Aging Is the Wrong Mindset

The idea of reversing aging is not the right mindset. The correct mindset is understanding that from birth to age 23, we are building functional levels. From ages 23 to 50, most of us experience peak function. However, after age 50, most people begin to decline, while about 5% maintain a high level of function.

The difference between these two paths? Lifestyle.

Being proactive about your lifestyle—staying physically active, socially connected, and cognitively stimulated—helps maintain function and supports long-term well-being. Anything you can do that is respectful of your body, yourself, and life contributes to aging well.

But the idea of reversing something that is naturally non-reversible is the wrong mindset. Instead, let’s focus on thriving at every stage of life.
